Dear Judy and Bill: My wife and I wanted to express our most heartfelt thanks to you for the beautiful custom cabinets you made for us. It was a very pleasant and worry free experience and we could not be happier with both the process and the final result . This especially during the design phase; having visited several showrooms and not finding what we wanted, I decided to do the drawings myself. Bill was very willing and understanding of my designs and offered excellent suggestions that brought out our vision to be even better than I could have imagined. Bill patiently went over the designs as many times as it was necessary until we both were happy with the overall result. Even when a miscommunication resulted in a problem with one cabinet, Bill and Judy were more than willing to fix it at no extra cost to us! At the first meeting we were impressed with both Judy and Bill’s approach to the process and their easy going nature and even though we believed that custom cabinets would be way too expensive for us, they ended up being very affordable! The value they offer, I think, cannot be matched by any other custom cabinet maker! Everyone who has seen the final product always comments on how beautiful and well-made they are. Richard Weigand loves wood – red oak and white oak, walnut, mahogany, ebony, curly maple, rosewood, every wood. And that love is reciprocated in spades. Make that “in doors, in chairs, in rockers, in desks, in tables and stools – in sculpted elephant heads!” Whether it is his meticulous reproduction of the Greene and Greene furniture or his creative response to requests for art-cum-function (very specific function) pieces, his excitement is literally transformative. I am happy he and his work came into my life.

I am happy to write about my experience working with Richard and Judy Weigand. I am an Interior Designer working in the Washington, DC area and have had the opportunity to work with them on several pieces of custom furniture. In all instances I have been impressed with their ability to understand what the client’s wishes are. They are also great at translating those wishes into detailed drawings and ultimately into beautiful pieces of furniture. Richard is able to provide an exact replica of a piece of furniture using only a picture to guide him. He is also wonderfully creative and can design furniture that will fit a specific need. His products are beautifully detailed and finished and the wood he uses is gorgeous. The pieces he built for my client are works of art. The Weigands combine artistic ability with good business practices that made me very comfortable relying upon them. They made me look great in front of my clients and I look forward to working with them on future projects. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I appreciate you asking for a letter and I am sorry you even had to ask I have been meaning to send one anyways….because the fact is that I absolutely LOVE my Weigand rocking chair. I have had more compliments from people when they see the chair and unbelievable approval when they sit in the chair! The chair is built as if it was custom made for me and my body. The curves in the back and the arms of the chair fit me perfectly and I have never been able to sit for an extended period of time in a wooden rocker, until I got this rocking chair, the seat of the chair is even carved to fit me! The rocking chair is more than just a chair it is a magnificent piece of artwork. The details are so delicate and the seams of the chair were pieced together so flawlessly that you cannot even feel where the wood changes. My chair is a very smooth and feminine piece of furniture and I absolutely love it!
